Material Cost Calculator — Privacy Policy

Shipwright Labs ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Material Cost Calculator mobile application. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share information when you use our app.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Project data: Material types, dimensions, quantities, and cost estimates you enter into the app. This data is stored locally on your device and, if you have purchased the Pro upgrade, synced via Apple's CloudKit to your iCloud account.

Automatically Collected Information

• Advertising data: We use Google AdMob to serve ads in the free version of the app. AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP address, and usage data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads depending on your tracking preferences. See Google's privacy policy for details.
• App Tracking Transparency: On iOS 14.5 and later, the app requests your permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework before any tracking-related data is shared with ad networks. You can change this permission at any time in your device's Settings.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the app's functionality
• To sync your saved projects across devices via CloudKit (Pro users)
• To serve advertisements (free version)
• To process in-app purchases via Apple's StoreKit

3. Data Storage and Security

• Project data is stored locally on your device using Apple's standard storage mechanisms.
• Pro users' project data is synced through Apple's CloudKit infrastructure. This data is stored in your private iCloud database and is accessible only to your Apple ID.
• We do not operate our own servers or databases to store your personal data.

4. Third-Party Services

Our app uses the following third-party services:

• Google AdMob: Ad serving (free version only). Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Apple CloudKit: Project data sync (Pro version). Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
• Apple StoreKit: In-app purchase processing. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as follows:

• With Google AdMob for ad delivery (free version), subject to your tracking preferences
• With Apple for iCloud sync and purchase processing

6. Your Choices

• You can decline ad tracking when the App Tracking Transparency prompt appears, or change it later in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
• You can delete your saved projects at any time within the app.
• You can disable iCloud sync by removing the app from iCloud in your device settings.

7. Children's Privacy

Material Cost Calculator is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of changes by updating the "Last Updated" date above.
